Not all salon booth rentals are the same. At one location, your rental fee may just cover the actual booth rental. At another location, the rental fee might cover the rent plus utilities.  Read the contract carefully. Know exactly what you are taking on.  Do you have the finances to pay for the overhead if that is required? Do you have the finances to pay for advertising and marketing?  A rental price of $100 per week sounds fantastic, but what if you must also pay for utilities, WiFi, a website, and other secondary costs? Can you afford to do so?

Call the Chamber of Commerce. Talk to others who rent from the leasing company.  Know what you are signing on for, and with whom.

Do you have what it takes?

Last, but not least, determine whether you have what it takes to run your own business. Are you a hard-worker? Are you a self-starter? Are you good at marketing?  Will you put in the long hours for success? Only you can answer these questions and please, be honest when you do. Not everyone is wired properly to run a business.
