How To Choose The Best Salon Suite Rental For You

Rent a hair salon room in Fort Worth

So much goes into choosing a salon suite rental. It is much more than simply signing on the dotted line and opening up for business.  In this article, we will give you a few things to think about as you navigate through the booth rental waters. We are Salon & Spa Galleria, serving the Greater Fort Worth area with twelve salon suite rental locations. Call us at 972-691-7300 for more information.

Now, though, let’s talk about the salon suite rental process.

Understand the process

The salon suite rental process is a fairly straight-forward rental agreement.  You rent a space, by the week or by the month, and from that space you run your own business.  Instead of working for a beauty salon owner, and making commissions, you work for yourself and keep 100% of any profits made.

You not only keep 100% of the profits, but you are also responsible for 100% of the expenses, and it is important that you keep that in mind. When you rent a salon booth rental, the buck stops with you.  You are the business owner.

Compare the options you have

In most cities, you can either rent a salon chair rental, a salon booth rental, or a salon suite rental.  Generally, the cost rises according to the size of the space you lease.

What about secondary costs like utilities, or Wifi, or laundry?  These things are called amenities, and they may, or may not, be included in the rental price. Speaking for our situation, at Salon & Spa Galleria, those items just mentioned are included in the rental fee, a fee which can be as low at $100 per week, but that is not true of all salon suite rental companies.

Our best advice: shop around and find the best financial situation for your particular circumstance.  In other words, look for the best deal for your specifically.

Consider location

There are three things for you to consider regarding location: are you close to your existing customers, is the location convenient regarding access, and will it thrive in the years to come?

Regarding the first consideration, the customer list you have while working at a traditional beauty salon may, or may not, follow you to your new salon suite rental. They are much more likely to follow you if the new location is close to the old one.  They are also more willing, and likely, to follow you if your new location is convenient for them, and if there is ample parking for them.

Finally, future business will depend upon your professional ability, any walk-in traffic you can get, and any drive-by traffic you can get.  What sections of your town are showing an increase in traffic? Where is the commercial hub of your city, and where will that hub be in five years?

Finally, do you have the right stuff?

And, finally, do you have what it takes to run your own business? Not everyone does? Remember, there is a certain amount of pressure in running a business.  It can be stressful.  Do you know how to budget? Do you know how to pay taxes? Do you have any marketing skills? Are you a self-starter? Are you a hard-worker?  We cannot overemphasize this enough: not everyone is cut out to run their own business. Make sure you are honest in this self-appraisal.
