If you are in the beauty industry, you know how it works.  Most of you will start out working for commission in a beauty salon owned by someone else.  It is a safe entry into the industry, but you work for commissions, meaning about half of what you make for the salon goes to the salon owner.  This is neither fair nor unfair; it is just the way it works in the beauty industry.  An example to clarify this industry standard: you average twenty customers per week at thirty dollars per visit. That equates to $600 per week, and your commission is 50%, so you take home $300 per week, or $1200 per month.  We can all agree you are not going to get rich on $1200 per month.

Now let’s look at a booth rental scenario.  You have the same twenty customers per week at the same $30 average per customer.  Your income is $600 per week, or $2400 per month, and you keep all of it minus your overhead.  Now it gets a bit tricky. What is your overhead for a booth rental?

Booth rental prices vary drastically.  At Salon & Spa Galleria,  our booth rental prices vary from $50 per week to $400 per week, depending upon location and the size of the salon suite you rent.  Fifty bucks per week is two-hundred per month, which means you net $2000 per month in our scenario.

But what about other incidental costs?  Now it really gets tricky.  At Salon and Spa Galleria, we provide all incidentals like utilities, WiFi, HDTV, furniture, a concierge, on-site washer and dryer, and your own web page on our web site.  Your incidental costs at Salon & Spa Galleria are zero, but that may not be so with other companies, so you will need to ask very direct questions about the total costs you face in renting a luxury salon suite.

Can you change your life by going it alone and renting a salon booth?  Most definitely, and the chief factor of success is your ability and desire to succeed.  For self-motivated people, a salon booth rental is the intelligent decision.  For those who lack in self-motivation, our suggestion is to continue with what you are doing and work for commissions.
