Salon Booth Rental or Salon Suites Rental: Which Is Best For You?

We receive this question almost daily: which is best for you, a salon booth rental, a salon suite rental, or a salon chair rental?

We will answer that question in this article.

We are Salon & Spa Galleria, serving the Greater Fort Worth area with twelve outstanding locations of salon suite rental opportunities.  Call us at 972-691-7300 for more information and to arrange for a tour of the location near you.

Now, though, let’s talk about the difference between a salon booth rental, a salon suite rental, or a salon chair rental. There are many articles about this, and many of those articles differ in their definitions.

A matter of size

The most obvious explanation regarding this topic is this: a salon chair rental is simply renting the space for one chair; a salon booth rental will be a booth partitioned off from the rest of the salon; and a salon suite rental is a separate room from which you can run your business.  Basically, the larger the space you rent, the more that space will cost.

Confusing terminology in the industry

The confusion regarding this stems from who you are renting from.  You can rent a chair, or rent a booth, in an existing beauty salon owned by someone else.  You can rent a chair, rent a booth, or rent a suite from a company like Salon & Spa Galleria, and work for yourself.

Confused yet?

In business for yourself vs working for someone else

Historically, talented beauty professionals started out in the industry renting space in an existing beauty salon, owned by someone else.  They would work, basically, for commissions. The owned nothing. They were simply “employees” for that beauty salon owner.

About a decade ago, a new business format began, one in which talented beauty professionals began their own businesses, but instead of incurring the expense of renting an entire beauty salon, they simply rent space from a company like Salon & Spa Galleria.  All that company would ask for is the rental fee for that space; other than that, the beauty professional is in business for themselves, making all the business decisions, and keeping 100% of the profits.

So, instead of asking yourself if you need a salon chair rental, a salon booth rental, or a salon suite rental, you should be asking yourself whether you want to work for someone else, or work for yourself? Would you rather work for commissions or would you rather pocket 100% of the profits and actually be paid what you are truly worth?  Would you rather be dictated to, or control your own financial future?

Which would you prefer?
