Two types of salon booth rental prices.
Here is the confusion concerning a salon booth rental, and why we felt this article was necessary.
The traditional hair salon had “stations” where beauticians would work on customers, but oftentimes those stations were called salon booths. The beauticians were often independent contractors, and they would rent a station in the hair salon. Most often, the “rent” was in the form of a commission, usually in the 40% range, meaning the talented beautician would earn 40 cents for every dollar paid by the customer, and the owner of the salon would earn 60 cents.
In the past ten years we are seeing a new business model becoming quite popular. In this new business model, talented beauticians rent a salon suite, or a salon booth, basically a one-room retail location, and they operate their own business in that suite, keeping 100% of the profits earned. All the “salon suite” landlord receives is the monthly rent payment.
What is included in the salon booth rental prices?
In the first example we explained, the salon booth rental price would basically be the 60% paid to the owner, and that price would obviously fluctuate according to how much money was earned.
