Yes You Can Afford Salon Booth Rental Prices

By October 13, 2020Salon Spa Blog
Booth renting in a salon, the traditional for beauticians, is a dead end business decision which only benefits the salon owner.

Any discussion about salon booth rentals always begins with salon booth rental prices: what do they cost?  Can you afford them?  Will they be too much for you to consistently pay?  Will you be in jeopardy of defaulting on your lease agreement?

These are valid questions and they must be answered.  To help you in answering them, read this article. Then, if you have more questions, you can contact us and ask them. We are Salon & Spa Galleria out of Fort Worth, Texas.  We have nine locations in and around Fort Worth, and we will give you the honest information you seek.

What does a salon booth rental cost?

It depends!

Not exactly the definitive answer you were hoping for, but it’s an honest one, so let’s start there.

A salon booth price depends on its location and its size.  At Salon and Spa Galleria, we have salon suites for as little as $50 per week, and we have salon suites for as much as $400 per week.  It just depends on the specific suite you are leasing.   We are not unique in that pricing, so check your local opportunities and determine the specific pricing.  Our suggestion: go low until you are firmly established in your community.  It is better to start with a minimum of overhead than with too much.

$50 per week? What is that, one customer? Two?  That is affordable no matter how established you are in the industry.  $400 per week?  You better be very established with a very loyal customer list of regulars.

What else to you need?

You will need a business license for your salon room rental, business cards, supplies, and product to sell.  All told we estimate about $500 in start-up costs, provided the company you are leasing the salon spa from is providing everything else like furniture, equipment, a web page, HDTV, WiFi, utilities, etc., like we provide at Salon & Spa Galleria. These are the incidental costs which can eat you alive, so find out which amenities are included in your contract and plan accordingly. For example, what if the company you rent from does not include furniture.  True, you can rent salon furniture from a furniture provider, but what will it cost you?   Or what would utilities cost you per month? These questions must be answered before you sign your contract, and if you don’t like the terms of that contract, shop around until you find a salon suite rental you can live with.

Can you afford salon booth rental prices?

Most definitely yes, you can, but you need to be aware of the factors we mentioned in this article.  Do not sign any contract for a booth rental until you are completely satisfied with the information you discover.
