Special seasonal holidays are always coming, and you don’t want to let them pass without using them to promote your beauty salon and boost your salon suite sales.

Is your salon booth ready or not?

Here they come whether you are ready or not . . . Thanksgiving, Christmas, the 4th of July, Valentine’s Day, Presidents Day. . . . and each one of them provides you with the opportunity to promote your business and increase sales.  All it requires you to do is plan ahead and be creative.  Here are just a few ideas for you to consider.

Decorate the interior of your salon suite rental

Yes, the decorations will cost money, but once you have them you will have them for many years to come.  You can do one or two each year until you have all the decorations collected. This year concentrate on decorating for Thanksgiving and Christmas.  Next year add the 4th of July and Valentine’s Day.

Decorate your front desk area.  Decorate your entrance area.  And decorate yourself.  There is no reason in the world why you can’t style hair while wearing an elf costume, is there?  Why not be Lady Liberty for a day, or Cupid for a day?

Promotional items for that special day

Sales increase during holidays. That is a retail truth which has been with us seemingly forever.  People spend money during the holidays.  You will want special retail items to see for the holidays, and you will want item displays in prominent locations in your salon suite.  Which direction do your customers face while you are styling their hair or giving a massage?  You will want a display of retail merchandise in those areas.

Holiday special offers

Holiday raffles . . .holiday contests . . . two for one offers . . . plaster these promotions on your website, plaster them in press releases . . . have friends spread the word.  Do not let holiday pass without a special holiday offer.

Piggyback with others

There is nothing quite as satisfying as getting free advertising?  Ask local business owners to partner with you on a seasonal promotion. That way they are promoting it as well as you, a two for one in advertising.  A women’s apparel shop can offer a $5 off coupon to your salon studio, and you can do the same at your place of business.  It takes very little effort to set up such an arrangement, it costs no money at all, and it does get positive results.

Now, what can you think of in the way of seasonal promotions? What could you do for the next 4th of July? What could you do the next time the Fall Harvest rolls around? How about Halloween?  How about Earth Day?  Be creative, brainstorm with friends, and then, as Nike urges us, Just do it!
