owning a microblading salon

Many want to own a microblading salon. Many have the investment capital it takes to do so.  But we are reminded of the old adage: Simply because you can does not mean you should.

We will explain how that adage applies to microblading ownership in this article by Salon & Spa Galleria, serving the Greater Fort Worth area with twenty-three salon suite rental agencies. Call us at 817-917-1416 for more information and to arrange for a tour.  If the best in microblading suites is what you want, Salon & Spa Galleria is the name to remember.

Having the money for a microblading salon is the first step.

You have two financial routes to owning a microblading salon. First, you can purchase a retail location where you will have your salon. This is the most expensive approach by far because retail property is not cheap.  Let’s say you find a decent salon building in a decent location; chances are excellent that building will cost you at the very least $500,000. This will require a down payment, probably 20%, and then monthly mortgage payments of what? $1000? More?

Then add on the cost of signage, furnishings, building insurance, liability insurance, product to sell, utility hookup, decorations and, well, no joke, you are looking at an additional $10,000, maybe more, before you ever open the doors of your microblading spa for business.

The second step, much more reasonable with regards to cost, one we are intimately familiar with.  In this scenario, you rent a salon suite from a company like Salon & Spa Galleria. Cost of renting? Depending upon the city and the amount of competition in the rental business, you can expect to pay between $300 and $750 per month for rent. What makes this such an attractive opportunity is that usually, in this scenario, your utilities are included in this rental agreement. In fact, in the case of Salon & Spa Galleria, not only are utilities included but also a free HDTV, furniture if needed, WiFi, a web page, monthly marketing workshops, laundry facilities,  and more.

Meaning, of course, that this scenario if incredibly attractive for those with very little investment capital. In fact, we estimate, based on our extensive experience, that you can open the doors for business having spent, out of pocket, as little as $1000.

So, it is doable for most microblading professionals.

However . . .

Understanding these duties of ownership.

Owning a business means the buck stops at your doorstep.  You will make all decisions, and those decisions will directly affect the profitability of your business. There is no safety net. There is no guaranteed paycheck.  There is no one to consult with before making a big decision.

And, quite frankly, there are a good many people who cannot handle that type of pressure, and that is perfectly all right.

Not everyone has what it takes.

It’s all right not to be the “management” type, but it is crucial, before taking the plunge, that you have a heart-to-heart discussion with yourself and determine whether you are comfortable being the Top Dog with so much responsibility.  Just because ownership has always been a dream of yours does not mean that dream is a good one and realizing that may prevent the dream from becoming a nightmare.

A final word about Salon & Spa Galleria.

Salon & Spa Galleria is locally owned and operated, and we welcome you to call us and speak to a leasing agent. This is not a franchise situation.  You keep 100% of the profits you generate and, quite frankly, this is the best salon studio rental opportunity you will find in all of Fort Worth.
