Owning A Spa: The Most Important Asset You Have

If you have ever thought of owning your own spa, the title of this article should have your attention. We are Salon & Spa Galleria, with twenty-two spa room rental locations in the Greater Fort Worth Metro area, so we bring a little “game” into this discussion.  Call us at 817-917-1416 for more information and to arrange for a tour of our luxury salon suites.

Based on our experience, what follows is our opinion of the most important asset you must have to operate a successful spa.

Owners of a spa must have this asset.

Let’s get right to it.

Owning a business is not easy, even using our business model, which we believe is the easiest way to become the owner of a spa, hair salon, beauty salon, microblading spa, or any other beauty-related business.

When you own a business, you are basically tossing away the safety net. There is no guaranteed income, no health benefits, as my grandmother was fond of saying, no nothing.  You are on a tiny island, by yourself, and yes, sharks are swimming just offshore.  And yet, many new business owners, new spa owners, are successful. We see it daily in our twenty-two Salon and Spa Galleria locations.

What do our clients possess that other failed business owners did not possess?

We believe success begins with a strong sense of self-worth, a strong belief in yourself and your abilities.  A person secure in themselves can withstand the problems which arise while owning a business. A person with a strong sense of self-worth remains positive during the lean times and remains balanced during the good times.

The sharks may circle the island at times, but the type of owner we are talking about still finds time to sit on the beach and enjoy the sunset.

Owning a spa is not just for the rich.

Up until ten years ago, it was probably more true than not that to own a business, you had to have a tidy little nest-egg of savings sitting in the bank.  Starting a business back in 2000, or even 2010, requires investment capital, oftentimes to the tune of tens-of-thousands of dollars, and very few middle-class dreamers had that kind of cash.

Not true today. You can rent a salon suite from Salon & Spa Galleria for as little as $75 per week, and that includes utilities and WiFi and loads of other amenities.  You would have to pay for a business license, insurance, any product you plan on selling, and the cost of decorating the salon studio.  We have had new owners move in for as little as $500 investment money.

Do you have what it takes?

So there you have it, as blunt and honest as we can be about owning spas. Money should not factor into a decision about owning a spa. Start small, in a salon suite rental, and grow your business as finances allow. The only question, then, is this one: do you have what it takes?

A final word about Salon & Spa Galleria.

Call us and let’s talk about the low rent and the amenity package included in that rent.  Our business model is a proven winner, and we would love to have you join our team of outstanding professionals.
